Mercedes-Benz 450SL & 560SL service and restoration
Mercedes-Benz 450 SL service and repair

In April of 1971, the successor of the classic W113 Chassis SL (230SL, 250SL, and 280SL) was unveiled. Designated the R107, it has had the second longest production run of all Mercedes-Benz chassis, ending an eighteen year run in 1989 with a total of 237,387 built. SL means "Sports Leicht"  or "Sport Light", but with an average curb weight of about 3400 lbs it was never light by sports car standards. It was however a break though in combining safety, power, and luxury in a two-seater, becoming one of the most iconic grand touring roadsters ever built.
