This was our 12th time attending the Greenwich Concours as a participant, and the weekend could not have been more fun. Spending time with fidus Achates and our extended car family, complete with great hospitality and extremely cool vehicles, does it get any better? Thank you to all the judges and volunteers for putting on a great show, the Wennerstrom legacy is definitely in good hands! We hosted our 16th Annual Open House/Tech Session for the MBCA Minuteman Section. Each member received 15 minutes of lift time with a technician to learn and inspect their vehicles. Plenty of Mercedes-Benzs, plenty of visitors, plenty of sunshine, plenty raffle prizes, and plenty of smiles! THANK YOU to all who came out and to all the staff for their hard work in making this another success.
The end of October features one of the last shows of the season, Extinct car Day at the Larz Anderson Museum of Transportation in Brookline, MA. We had fun showing up with our Nash surfer coupe and the Freeway Martini.
The scenic Misselwood Concours d'Elegance is always a treat for us. The oceanside location of the beautiful Endicott Estate makes for one of the prettiest car show locations in the country. That time of year when the fun is in Greenwich, CT. Another great weekend of cars, friends, a Bonhams auction, great food and cocktails. So good to be hanging with our extended car family again as we participated in both RADwood and the Concours D’ Lemons. It was the debut of our ‘82 H-M Freeway Martini 3-Wheeler and I am happy to report that it was well received. Thanks again to the team at Hagerty for the hospitality and for coordinating all this fun!

Nice shout out for EAS and the Larz Anderson from Silodrome this last weekend, on a project we did a few years back! The bus was bought from Switzerland to the United States in 2012, upon arrival it was given a fresh servicing by Mercedes-Benz specialist European Auto Solutions in order to ensure it was ready for whatever journeys the new owner wished to undertake. We were very fortunate to have 2 beautiful locally owned M1s (out of 399 made) at the shop for service at the same time! The BMW M1 (E26) coupé was hand-built between 1978 and 1981 under the motorsport division of BMW as a homologation special for sports car racing. There were 399 street versions produced world wide, 98 in Orange and 59 in Blue. The fiber glass body of the M1 was manufactured by the Italian firm Italina Resina and assembled in Turin.

EAS attended Monterey Car Week searching the auctions for great rust free cars to bring back to New England. It was a busy week of shows and auctions including Concours d’Lemons, Carmel by the Sea Concours, The Little Car Show, The Quail, Mecum’s, Bonhams, Russo and Steele, and Goodings. The Mercedes-Benz 16v pictured here and a BMW M1 are on their way back to Boston.

One of the events I really look forward to up here in New England is the annual Art of the Automobile presents Yummies Run 2019! What a great year we had this time around. So much fun to host and participate in a fundraiser for "Cops for Kids with Cancer Fund". Thanks to everyone that came out and contributed!
For the 6th straight year, EAS has been proud to support Community Servings Life Savor. Our auction items, "A Weekend in a Vintage Mercedes-Benz" and a "A Day at Thompson Speedway in an AMG" raised $3200 for the charity. We really appreciate the opportunity to help this great organization!

EAS owner Ed Owen and his Dad had the pleasure of participating in the Great American Mountain Rally Revival (GAMRR). A 3-day, 700 mile rally on New England mountain roads. EAS’s entry was our 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 16V. You can read more about the event on Hemmings web site.
Last weekend was a busy one as we participated in two fund raising car shows. The first was the Northeast Classic Vic Yerardi Memorial Car Show at Adesa in Framingham. The show was founded by our good friend Ted Yerardi and this year money was raised for the Disabled and Limbless Veterans. If you missed it this year, we recommend you don't miss the 5th annual next year! The second was the Weston Car Show, a show we have been supporting every year we have been open. Always fun to participate in the Audrain Auto Museum’s events. Today was at the Marble House in Newport. We brought a ‘79 Mercedes-Benz 6.9 with 47k original miles. The king of the road back in ‘79. Here are some of our other favorites.
We recently participated in a fundraiser for the Wellesley Service League. We certainly appreciate them asking us to be involved. Here is our ‘99 Mercedes-Benz SLK with 14k Miles, our ‘68 Mercedes-Benz 280SL, and our ‘68 BMW 1800 on display. Our friends at Classic Motor Cars Boston helped the display with their ‘76 450SL. A fun night for a great cause!

We recently received a call about a ‘62 Mercedes-Benz 190SL that had been in a barn since 1975. We loaded up the truck and drove down to a house just a little Northwest of Hartford, CT. We dug it out and found a beautiful 121 Chassis SL, featured in English Red, all in tact with a Florida inspection sticker from 1974. (find out more)
Come celebrate the arrival of Spring at European Auto Solutions' 9th Annual MBCA Minuteman Section Open House, on April 25 th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each attendee will be given 15 minutes of lift time for personal inspection of their Mercedes-Benz with an EAS technician to both learn more about their vehicle and to have it checked for the upcoming open road season.
